Download and run the Windows Citrix Workspace client (click here to download Citrix Workspace). The installer will display the progress of the install and inform you when the installation is complete. Launch the Citrix Workspace from the Windows start menu. The first time Citrix Receiver is launched, it will ask you to add an account. It is an optional download, provided on an as-is basis by Citrix to serve as an example. Before use, IT administrators must customize the scripts to suit their environment. The uninstall and install scripts may be used as noted in the upgrade guide for Citrix Workspace app for Windows. Symptoms or Error

This article is intended for Citrix administrators and technical teams only.
Non-admin users must contact their company’s Help Desk/IT support team and can refer to CTX297149 for more information.
After upgrading Windows 10 to a new feature update and attempting to install Citrix Receiver or the Citrix Workspace App, installation will complete successfully, however you will receive errors during the installation process. After that, certain features such as Single Sign On and others may not work as they weren't able to complete their individual component installations.

Solution

Microsoft has published an article advising of this issue and has also provided steps on how to resolve it within Windows. After following the steps outlined in this article and attempting to install Citrix Receiver or the Citrix Workspace App, the installation will complete successfully without any errors and full functionality of the desktop app will be available.

Problem Cause

There is a known Windows 10 issue that can also affect Citrix Receiver/Workspace App installations due to Single Sign-On components needing to have access to certain information regarding the Network Provider Order settings available in the system registry, which was not there after the OS had been upgraded.

How to access files saved locally when using Citrix Workspace.

1. Open Citrix Workspace and log in.


2. Open a program in the workspace. For this example, Maple is used.
3. When the program opens, go system tray in the lower right corner of the screen(the ^). Right click on Citrix Workspace, and click 'Connection Center'.
4. This will bring up your Connection Center settings. Next, click Preferences (highlighted in yellow).
5. When your preferences have opened, navigate to File Access and make sure that 'Read and write' access is selected.

That should allow Citrix to access files that you have saved on your local hard drive.

6. To access/open files, click 'File' on the top left on 'Open.' There you will see your device's files.
You should now see an icon for you computer's Hard drive. It should be listed as something like 'Local Disk (C: on YourComputerName). Drive letter may be different depending on how your computer is set up.
